Norma Paulus discusses Partisanship, Blanket Primary

This is a short clip taken from a 45-minute interview that I recently conducted with Norma Paulus. Paulus discusses the possibility of reducing partisanship through a Louisiana-style blanket primary.


The proposal, which is a radical departure from Oregon's current system, is opposed by the major political parties who say that it restricts their right to nominate their own candidates, and by minor political parties, who are concerned that their candidates will not be on the ballot in a two-person general election.
