Presidential Donors - Obama and Hillary
I've gotten around to analyzing the 3rd quarter fundraising statistics for the top-2 Democratic candidates -- Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.
The news is good for banks and investors, not-so-good for working families. 5 of Obama's top 10 donor groups, and 8 of Hillary's top-10, are investment banks:
Clinton:
DLA Piper $352,000
Goldman Sachs $338,000
Morgan Stanley $326,000
CitiGroup $303,000
Bear Stearns $124,000
Merrill Lynch $123,000
Lehman Bros $123,000
Credit Suisse $98,900
Obama:
Goldman Sachs $360,000
Lehman Bros $238,000
JP Morgan $218,000
Citadel Investment $173,900
Morgan Stanley $108,000
The upshot? If contributions are intended to influence policy outcomes, don't look for either Democratic candidate to take strong positions against the kinds of trade agreements that have undermined America's middle class and tax policies that have worked to erode America's manufacturing base.

Lists of donors available?
I would like to know how it's possible to see the donors of both Clinton and Obama. Is that public (at least at the institutional level)?
Thanks;
JAP
